About the River City Baseball & Softball Association

We are the River City Baseball & Softball Association (RCBSA). The RCBSA is a private, non-profit association and was formed about 17 years ago. Our mission was to develop ball fields in southeast Council Bluffs for practice and game use by teams in the area. Through several years of sponsoring tournaments, fundraisers and grant writing, the association’s dream was realized when the Iowa West Foundation Youth Complex opened for its first season of baseball and softball in 2001.

Today, the complex hosts a series of USSSA baseball and softball tournaments. Over 500 baseball/softball/machine pitch games and more than 300 practices are held at the complex each year. The complex consists of two ball fields that can support 10U 14U baseball games and one ball field that can support 9U – 11U baseball and girls softball. All fields are irrigated and in 2005 a state of the art lighting system was installed on all fields. The RCBSA is proud to own and operate one of the premier ball complexes in the Council Bluffs/Omaha metropolitan area.
